Hello and welcome to Azza’s Half Hour, I’m your host Aaron Gillin. Today on the show we will be focusing on American rock musician Meat Loaf.
“All Revved Up With No Place to Go (Snippet)”
Meat Loaf, born Marvin Aday on the 27th of September 1947 in Dallas, Texas is a successful American rock musician that had a string of hits in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and is still performing today.
Originally a performer in theatre Meat Loaf decided to concentrate on a music career in the early 1970’s when he and song writing friend named Jim Steinman began writing a rock album called “Bat out of Hell”. After finally finding a record company willing to take a chance with “Bat out of Hell” and its style of music Meat Loaf released the album in 1977. Standout tracks from the record were the title track “Bat out of Hell”, “You Took the Words Right out Of My Mouth”, “Two out of Three Ain’t Bad” and “Paradise By The Dashboard Light”.
Our first track on the show today is “Bat out of Hell” the full length of the song on the album went for just under 10 minutes so I will be playing an edit of the song for you.

Here in Australia the record knocked the “Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack” featuring the Bee Gees off the number 1 spot and went on to be one of biggest selling albums in the country that wasn’t recorded by an Aussie.
Our next song on Azza’s Half Hour is another single from “Bat out of Hell” entitled “Two out Of Three ain’t bad”. The track was Meat Loaf’s third single from the album and it reached number 11 on the U.S Billboard Hot 100 charts.
