KISS was formed in the early 1970’s and originally featured Paul Stanley on rhythm guitar, Gene Simmons on bass guitar, Ace Frehley on lead guitar and Peter Criss on drums. The band with their makeup and costumes took on personas of comic-book style characters named “Starchild”, “The Demon”, “Spaceman” and “Catman”. The self titled debut album from KISS was released in 1974. The record did not chart well but featured some of the group’s standout songs “Strutter”, “Nothin’ To Lose”, “Deuce”, “Firehouse” and “Black Diamond”. “Strutter” was written by Gene Simmons and was the third single from the album while “Deuce” was written by both Simmons and Stanley and is one of the bands most popular songs.
