Aerosmith is an American rock band that formed in 1970. The group features lead vocalist Steven Tyler, lead guitarist Joe Perry, Bass guitarist Tom Hamilton, drummer Joey Kramer and guitarist Brad Whitford. The group’s first major single “Dream On” was from their self-titled debut album and reached number 59 on the US charts.
In 1987 Aerosmith released their 9th studio album called “Permanent Vacation” it featured the singles “Dude (Looks Like A Lady)”, “Hangman Jury”, “Angel”, “Rag Doll” and “Magic Touch” plus also reached number 11 on the charts in America. “Dude (Looks Like A Lady)” reached number 95 on the ARIA charts, number 14 on the US Billboard charts and number 4 on the US Rock charts. The music clip for the song was nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards in 1988.

Welcome back to Azza’s Half Hour that was “Dude (Looks Like A Lady)” by Aerosmith.
In 1989 Aerosmith released their 10th studio album which was entitled “Pump”. The record reached the top spot on the Aussie charts and made it to number 5 in the U.S. Standout tracks from “Pump” were “Love In An Elevator”, “Janie’s Got A Gun”, “What It Takes”, “The Other Side” and “Monkey On My Back”.
The lead single “Love In An Elevator” was written by Steven Tyler & Joe Perry, in the U.S it made it to the top position on the Rock charts and number 5 on the Billboard charts. Another hit single on the album was “Janie’s Got A Gun” which in America reached number 4 on the Billboard charts and number 2 on the Rock charts, in Australia the track reached number 1. “Janie’s Got A Gun” also won Aerosmith a Grammy Award in 1991 for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.

In 1993 Aerosmith released an album entitled “Get A Grip” which reached number 1 on the American charts and number 3 on the Australian charts. Singles from the record were “Livin’ On The Edge”, “Eat The Rich”, “Cryin’”, “Shut Up and Dance”, “Amazing”, “Fever”, and “Crazy”. “Livin’ On The Edge” was a song that reached the top position on the U.S Rock charts and number 21 on the Aussie charts. The track was inspired by the Los Angeles riots of 1992 and won Aerosmith a Grammy Award in 1994 for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
In 1998 Aerosmith released a single entitled “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”. The song appeared on the soundtrack to the film “Armageddon” and reached number 1 on the charts in countries such as America, Australia, Italy, Germany and Ireland. “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song in 1999 and is Aerosmith’s biggest hit.
